Professor Alkis Psaltis MD, PhD is the current President of the Australian and New Zealand Rhinological Society.
He is the Chairman of Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Adelaide, Australia and a Professor at the University of Adelaide in South Australia.
He has authored over 250 peer-reviewed journal articles and 23 book chapters and has delivered over 600 international and national presentations and is on the Stanford University list of "World's Top 2%" scientists based on his research and publications. In 2024 he was awarded the prestigious Australian Society of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery Medal for distinguished service to ENT surgery and research in Australia.
He co-heads an active research department at the Basil Hetzel Institute researching causes and treatments for sinusitis and skull base tumours, and has supervised over 27 PhD students and 5 masters student to completion.
He sits on the editorial board 5 major international ENT journals.
He currently serves on the Board of Training for the Australian Society of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery .
